Baltimore Youth Arts is an artist-run, arts entrepreneurship and job readiness program for youth, ages 14-22, with a focus on those who have contact with the justice system. BYA believes the arts are a path towards personal liberation and self sufficiency and that they not only impact youth facing incarceration, but also the justice system and perceptions held by the greater community.

Our mission is to assist youth in gaining creative, personal, and educational skills that will enable them to become leaders in their communities. BYA uses the arts to engage youth with the goal of building long-lasting, mentoring relationships. We provide artistic, entrepreneurial, and leadership opportunities to youth so that they can hone their talents and use them to shape the world. We believe that the arts are a path towards social, emotional, and educational development.

Each year we pick a local Baltimore organization to raise money for. Our 2017 recipient is the Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School

The vision of Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School (BMPCS) is to nurture a love of learning in a small, family-like environment by providing an extraordinary and proven Montessori public school experience for families living in Baltimore City.

Our mission is to build a diverse and respectful community of joyfully engaged learners by providing a holistic Montessori environment that supports individual fulfillment, compassion, self-discipline, lifelong learning and a deep awareness of our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to our world.

“Our care of the children should be governed not by the desire to 'make them learn things,' but by the endeavor always to keep burning within them the light which is called intelligence.” -Dr. Maria Montessori

Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School (PCS) is committed to diversity and equality. Accordingly, the school admits students and conducts all educational programs, activities, and employment practices without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry, disability or any other legally protected classification

At our spring and winter shows we will have raffles to help raise funds and will do our best to shine a light on this wonderful school.  To help out in the interim you can donate here or sign up to volunteer here!
